St. John Paul II was Archbishop of Krakow before his election to the papacy and is credited with the fall of communism in his native land.
As you would expect the Polish pilgrims to Rio were thrilled.
So much wonderful art and history in this city, I expect the iconic symbol of the event will be the Church of St. Mary, can't wait to see the logo.
